On the Launchpad.........
My interest in model rocketry was rekindled when I stumbled accross a Estes starter kit that had been given to me by some friends for Christmas a number of years before. I built the rocket, the Big Bertha, and discovered that there was all kinds of cool stuff out there for rockets these days; altimeters, telemetry recorders, programable recovery controlers and lots more! Let the compulsive building begin! Now, each of the others in the family wanted their own rocket too. The quest for more power (UH, UH, UH!) existed here too along with the desire to go faster and higher. The kits turned into custom projects. Most of the WDRC "Space Program" consists of Estes rocket kits, but some......... only started that way!
